Challenges & Solutions

Challenge:Silent retreats offer a variety of packages and pricing in terms of accommodation, meals, and activities. Creating a simple and intuitive pricing structure was challenging
Solution:Using a price range for the cheapest options to the most expensive for any particular retreat
Challenge:Most silent retreats are not open to the public and require an application process. This makes it difficult to create a direct booking experience
Solution:Added a book now via retreat center booking form

Lessons Learned

  • Scaling up this directory is challenging due to the large variability in retreat centers and their offerings. Many retreats offer rotating schedules of silent meditation retreat events that have variable durations. Other retreats are open to the public on a come and go basis. Creating a unifying data structure that can handle this variability is a challenge.
